Saudi Arabia Signs Power Purchase Agreements for 15GW Renewable Energy Projects: On July 13, 2025, the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) signed power purchase agreements for seven renewable energy projects with a consortium led by the Saudi International Power and Water Company (ACWA Power). The total installed capacity reached 15GW, and the total investment was 31 billion Saudi riyals (about $8.3 billion). Among them, there are five photovoltaic power plants located in Aseer, Medina, Mecca, and Riyadh regions respectively, and the levelized cost of electricity is as low as 1.259 cents/kWh.
